Ontario and Mansfield Christian battled the elements to win in sudden-victory shootouts. They will each play for a regional title on Saturday. The Warriors clearly outplayed Chippewa but missed on several key opportunities in the second half of regulation as well as the overtime periods. In the first round of penalty kicks, the normally solid Katie Earhart, missed wide right. With the Chipps up 2-1, Ontario goal keeper, Kimmy Barnhill, came up with the stop eventually ending that session in a 4-4 tie, forcing sudden victory. Tied at 9, Barnhill bats away the Chipp's PK high to the right corner, setting up Earhart's shot at redemption. Katie made good on the attempt into the right corner, giving the Warriors a storybook ending. In the nightcap, the Flames won 6-5 in the second round of penalty kicks setting up a rematch of last year's regional title game against Toledo Ottawa Hills.
