U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown is wrapping up his re-election campaign bid but not without another stop in his native hometown of Mansfield.

After visiting WMFD last Tuesday, Sen. Brown stopped by the Friendly House on Saturday to talk with supporters and volunteers before they headed out to canvass local neighborhoods on his behalf.

Sen. Brown says he believes the economy is slowly turning around but it will still take some time and more needs to be done.

He believes the auto bailout was a successful venture and since the bailout, says unemployment has dropped from 10.6 percent to 7 percent.

Sen. Brown is in a close race with his opponent, Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel who also visited Ontario last week.
