The Richland County Board of Elections have voted 20,604 people as of Monday.

Twelve hundred absentee ballots still need to be turned in, according to Board of Elections Director Paulette Hankins.  Those ballots can be returned to the office at 1495 West Longview Avenue in Mansfield by 7:30 pm election day.

"By the end of the day, Monday, we figure there will be 25-percent of our 89,000 registered voters will have voted early or absentee," Hankins said.

The board of elections is expecting between 35,000 and 40,000 voters actually showing up at the polls, Tuesday, to vote.

And, despite rumors, Hankins says the board has had no issues when it comes to voting and counting results.

Hankins encourages those who have moved and changed addresses to vote at the board of elections office rather than their precinct.  Voting hours Tuesday begin at 6:30am and end at 7:30pm.
