The voting process throughout Richland County went pretty much as planned during Tuesday's General Election, according to Richland County Board of Elections Deputy Director Bill Freytag who was working his very first presidential election. Freytag says the Board of Elections predicted between 65 and 68 percent of registered voters in Richland County would cast ballots, adding with the nice weather he'd be surprised if they didn't hit that mark. Pollworkers said voting sites were busy when they opened at 6:30 a.m. and most were steady all day. Four years ago, during the 2008 General Election, voter turnout in Richland County was at 64 percent. |
