Ontario Stops Gates Mills, Heads To State Final

The Ontario girls soccer team will play for the Division III state championship on Friday at noon at Columbus Crew Stadium, after edging Gates Mills Hawken 1-0.  Ontario's Taylor Elliot scored the games only goal off a corner kick and header.   With the win the 18-3-1 Warriors will play Middletown Bishop Fenwick.  Fenwick outlasted Cincinnati Summit Country Day 1-0 in overtime.  

Ontario's Kelly Barnhill had six saves in goal as the Hawks outshot the Warriors seven to four.  For Ontario coach Larry Atkinson it was his 100th win as a varsity coach.
