The damaged and closed Rock Road bridge in Ontario was expected to be torn down by now.

But Mayor Larry Collins says wrangling among attorneys over contract language has delayed the project.

And he says even if the bridge is torn down this winter, the road will remain closed until spring.

That's because the asphalt companies are closed for the winter, and if the bridge is removed, the road must be widened from one to two lanes before it can re-open.

The Civil War era Rock Road bridge was damaged by a truck in July of last year, and has remained closed as a safety hazard ever since.
