The Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a 2012 Business Expo at Ashland University Convocation Center.

The two-day expo kicked off Thursday afternoon and continues Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event features over 40 businesses and a series of workshops.

Chamber President/CEO Barbie Lange said its been six years since the chamber hosted a Business Expo.
She said the expo is important to the community for a number of reasons.

"First of all its important for the public to know what our members have to offer them. Its also important for the public to get out and network with one another. People do business with people they know and trust. This event is a really good way for people to come and get to know members of the Ashland Chamber," Lange said.

Entry fee into the expo is a monetary donation to the Salvation Army.

The event was sponsored by the Ashland Area Council of Economic Development, Lutheran Village and Anthem-Shawan Marquis Agency.
