A local man and his wife are trying to help victims of Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey. Bill and Tammy Staton will have a truck parked at Sack and Save on 23 East Whitney Avenue in Shelby, from 10 am to 4 pm Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Please do not leave items when the truck is not there. They're seeking non-perishable food, personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, and new or lightly-used coats, hats, and blankets. $1000 in donations will cover the truck rental, gasoline, and highway tolls. The Statons will cover their own hotel and meal expenses during their mission of mercy. |
