Warm temperatures helped bring out hundreds of people to the annual Mansfield Veterans Day Parade held Sunday morning downtown. The parade had 34 units this year with color guards, military vehicles and dozens of marchers on display. The keynote speaker and grand marshal of the parade was Aaron Davis, a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran. Davis served as a pharmacist mate on the U.S.S. Mendocino in World War II. Parade coordinator Frank Russo says Davis is a super man and super veteran and it was an honor to have him serce as the grand marshal. Russo says he also thanks God for such a beautiful day for the parade, one of the nicest days in recent history for the Veterans Day Parade. |
