More than 50 disaster relief volunteers from across Ohio gathered in Mansfield Wednesday for the Ohio Voluntary Organizations in Disaster fall conference.

The meeting was hosted by the Richland County Organizations for Disaster Assistance, or CODA.

Ohio VOAD President Mary Woodward says the four-hour session was to discuss how the many organizations can work together.

The city of Shelby was recognized for its work to prevent the devastation from another flood like the one in August of 2007.

Richland CODA has 23 member agencies including Catholic Charities, the Agency on Aging, the Health Department, Emergency Management, and the United Way.
