The Ashland University Eagle football team, champions of the GLIAC, will take on West Texas A and M on Saturday, November 24th at 11am at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field.  The Buffaloes stopped Chadron State on the road this past Saturday 38-30 to earn the right to face the Eagles.

This will be the fifth time in school history (1986, '97, 2007, '08 and 2012) that AU has advanced to the post season and the second time Ashland has hosted a home playoff game the first being 2008, when the Eagles beat Minnesota State-Mankato 27-16.  West Texas A and M comes into the game at 10-2 and are ranked 16th in the country in Division II, while the Eagles are ranked fourth.

Of note, Ashland quarterback Taylor Housewright and West Texas A and M QB Dustin Vaughan are two of eight players nominated for the Harlon Hill Trophy, the award given to the Division II player of the year.   The final ballots for the award will be cast on November 29th.  The honor will be determined by a vote of 155 sports information directors across the country, with the winner being announced on Friday, December 14th.
