Council Addresses Speed Camera Issue

Mansfield City Council is revisiting the issue of speed cameras. During its caucus session Tuesday night, council heard a proposal for a one vehicle-mounted camera that would allow a police officer to give an administrative citation to violators. Newberry said the city can a have a contract with the vendor if it likes the system under a revenue sharing agreement. Mayor Tim Theaker said the cruiser will allow law enforcement to address the issue of speeding without putting other motorists or themselves at risk. |
