After finishing at 17-3 overall and 11-3 in the OCC and winning a share of the conference with Lexington, the Mansfield Tyger boys basketball team will open the season a week from Friday at Pete Henry Gym against the Lima Senior Spartans.  The Tygers will hit the court with new coach Johntory Reese who was a varsity assistant to Effie James last year.

When coach Reese was asked who he will be leaning on in his first season as Tyger coach he gave the name of one player, Keon Johnson.  At 5'7"150lbs the senior point guard has already connitted to Winthrop for basketball.  As a junior, Johnson was All-Ohio honorable mention Division I, averaging 22 points a game in 2011-'12.

The Tygers will find out where they are at early in the season opening at home with Lima Senior, then the next night heading to Toledo Scott.  Mansfield will also play host to Dayton Dunbar the defending Division II state champions on Friday, December 21st.
