The State Highway Patrol is still looking into what triggered two separate accidents on Interstate 71.

The first crash involved two cars in the southbound lanes, near Ohio 97, in Richland County.

No one was hurt.

Then, just a half hour later, as traffic backed up on the highway... a second crash. This one involved three cars.
But again, no injuries.

Southbound traffic was backed up for several miles following the crashes.

The patrol handled a total of 14 crashes within five hours on Interstate 71 south near the Richland-Morrow county line.

The Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend is one of the busiest travel days of the year.
