Six players from the area earned All-Ohio honors in football in Division IV, four from Galion, two from Ontario. Galion's David Nay was named All-Ohio second team. The senior rushed for 1,459 yards and 19 touchdowns. Teammate Dareian Watkins was selected to the third team. Watkins started the year at quarterback, was sidelined for a week with a knee injury, then came back and split time at quarterback and wide receiver. Galion linebacker Nate Cass was also a second team pick with 136 tackles this season, while middle guard Mike Hollis was an All-Ohio special mention pick. Those four players helped the Tigers to a 9-2 finish, an NCC championship and the playoffs. Ontario had two players make the grade. Warriors' offensive lineman Dylan Richards was named to the third team, while teammate and punter Jeremy Crider was named All-Ohio special mention as Ontario finished at 6-4. |
