First year varsity coach at Lexington Scott Hamilton will take his team on the road Friday evening to face the Mt.Vernon Yelloewjackets.  The Minutemen return just one starter from a year ago in senior guard Mason Willeke.  Three other players Logan Bastin, Zach Temple and Andy Barkett did see varsity playing time last season but did not start.  Most of the varsity roster this season will be made up of players who either did not play or were on the JV team in 2011-'12.

Coach Hamilton says the good thing about their opener at Mt.Vernon is the 'Jackets are pretty much in the same boat returning just one starter.  After Friday's road contest, Lex will open the home portion of their schedule as they take on the Willard Flashes.  For their part, the Flashes also play on Friday at home against Upper Sandusky.  The Minutemen won both games a season ago, 52-39 over Mt.Vernon and 60-41 over Willard, as Lexington won their first eight games.
