For the second straight night, the Shelby Whippets survived by a point, Friday it was Madison 35-34, Saturday evening the Whippets edged the Orrville Red Riders 57-56, when a last second shot by Alexander Smith wouldn't drop.

Shelby placed three players in double digits with Grant Fenner leading the way with 17 points.  Tristan Kehres has 13, Austin Rohde 12, with Andrew Baird scoring eight.  Shelby had leads of 16-10 after one, 28-21 at the half and 41-34 after three.  The Whippets lead by as many as 11 at one point in the game, but Orrville kept the game close with Trevor Summers knocking down 17 points and Landis getting 11.  The 'Riders also kept it close late with three point shooting by Gibson Siegrist who had six and Luke Smith who scored nine.

The win improves Shelby's record to 2-0 on the new season with Norwalk coming to Joe Yohn Gymnasium on Friday.  Orrville drops their opener and will try to get their first  win on Friday at West Holmes.
