Ashland University's Kari Daugherty of the AU womens basketball team scored 12 points and had 19 rebounds last Saturday against Ferris State in the Eagles 72-62 win. That was her 25th consecutive double-double dating back to last season. In so doing, she established a new NCAA Division II record for consecutive double-doubles. Daugherty was also named the GLIAC South Division women's basketball player of the week after averaging 21 points, 14 rebounds and five assists per game against Grand Valley and Ferris. She scored 30 against the Lakers last Thursday, her third 30 point performance through eight games. The Eagles , who finished as national runners-up in Division II a year ago, are off to an 8-0 start on the new season and are ranked #1 in D-2. Ashland travels to Wayne State on Wednesday evening at 8pm. The Eagles next home game is set for Monday, December 17th when they host Northwood. |
