Twenty rental property owners attended a Tenant-Landlord Workshop Wednesday at Ontario City Hall.

It was sponsored by the Mansfield-Richland County Fair Housing office.

Spencer Wells, Tenant Outreach Coordinator for the Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio, says landlords are not required to take these workshops but find them useful for keeping up on fair housing laws and clarifying their rights and responsibilities.

He says the rental housing market in Ohio is running fairly smoothly, although his office does take and investigate plenty of complaints.

Wells spoked about a wide range of topics including renting to people with handicaps, and when landlords may and may not enter a rented property.
