Mansfield Police have made an arrest in two downtown bank robberies.

That includes the hold-up Thursday afternoon at Richland Bank, and Mechanics Bank across Park Avenue West on Black Friday two weeks ago.

He fled Richland Bank on foot and witnesses lost sight of him, but information was compiled quickly and a search warrant was served at nine Sunnyslope Drive off of South Main Street.

29-year-old Jeremiah Conrad was found inside.  He's charged with two counts each of Aggravated Robbery and Robbery.

Lieutenant John Wendling credits all involved for the quick capture, saying Conrad "was just meant to be caught" and everything fell right into place.

Wendling says Conrad confessed to both robberies.

He will be arraigned Monday, and his case will be sent to the Richland County Grand Jury for consideration of state charges.

The FBI is not pursuing federal charges because no weapon was displayed.
