The Mansfield Tyger girls basketball team improved to 4-1 on the young season dropping the Madison Rams 69-48.  And speaking of young, Madison does not have one senior on the squad, and started three sophomore.  Mansfield Senior took an eight point advantage into the second quarter and built that to 13 by halftime.  Erica Hamner and Imani Vickers paced the Tygers in that period, but thanks to Fantasia Hood's eight points, Madison still had a chance.  Despite being outrebounded on both ends of the floor, Madison clawed their way back.  A three pointer from the right baseline by Molea Thompson ended the third period and cut the deficit to seven points.  Alexi Morris nailed a three with 7:17 left and the Rams were down by just six.

But the experience of the Tygers came up big in the fourth period as they outscored Madison 17-2 in the final minutes.  Fantasia Hood led the Rams in scoring with 14 points, while the Tygers put three players in double digits led by Erika Hamner with 24, Dierra Bluster had 15 and senior captain Imani Vickers had 13.  Both teams are back in action next Thursday, the Rams hosting Clear Fork, while Mansfield Senior is at home against Wooster.
