Organizers are saying the first ever Holiday Happenings event in Mozelle Hall at the Ashland County Fairgrounds is a big success.

The three-day event concluded this past weekend and served as a fundraiser for the United Way of Ashland County.

Creator and Co-Chair Mindy Reef says area businesses supported the event.

Seven donated and decorated Christmas trees were auctioned off, a 12 baskets of Christmas auction was held and people enjoyed the cookie and cake walk.

Reef says they hoped to raise $15,000 from the event.
