A single mom and her four young children will have a brighter Christmas, thanks to the Mansfield Correctional Institution's fifteenth annual Adopt a Family program. The prison's Employee Activities Committee raised enough money to give Jessica Watts and her children; eight-year-old Charles, six-year-old Kylah, two-year-old Talton, and one-year-old Brandilyn about sixty presents. Five ManCI inmates also put in 500 man hours building an elaborate dollhouse for Kylah. The Center for Individual and Family Services suggests families for the effort. Jessica Watts says this is a big help with dollars stretching only so far. Watts and her children opened some of their presents Tuesday at ManCI, with the rest to be taken home and opened Christmas morning...if they can wait that long. |
