A Lexington man who's been on trial for two days on child molestation charges has pleaded no contest to 26 counts, with the other 23 dismissed. 58-year-old William Baker entered the pleas this afternoon in Richland County Common Pleas Court, to charges including rape, gross sexual imposition, and sexual battery involving four boys. Baker faces a mandatory 3-to-11 years for rape, and maximum of 83 years, but he probably won't get that many. Baker is free on bond and will be home for the holidays, thinking about his fate when sentencing day comes January 23. |
