It was an impressive first three games to open the 2012-'13 season for Ontario, knocking off their opponents by an average of 30 points per contest. But the Warriors hot streak came to a screeching halt Saturday at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, when Willard handed them a 63-49 loss at the arena's "Court of Dreams" event. Now for the first time in the young season Ontario will try to bounce back from a dissappointing loss, and they may have to do it without the services of their leading scorer or rebounder. In the fourth quarter against the Crimson Flashes, Ontario's standout junior Cameron Mack suffered an in jury to the thumb on his left, shooting hand. While Mack was still able to lead the team in scoring with 18 points, he isn't sure what his status is for Friday's conference game at Upper Sandusky. "Right now all I know is I strained my thumb and hopefully I'll be able to play Friday." Mack says. "But it's looking like I'm just going to be able to play Saturday." Mack has been a limited participant at practice all week but says he wants to play against the Rams and will be a game time decision on Friday. He was more optomistic about potentially playing on Saturday when the Warriors travel to Shelby to take on the 3-1 Whippets in what will be the second game of four double-weekends for Ontario in the month of December. Perhaps the biggest surprise for the team in the first part of the month has been the play of guard Brandon Wagner. The 6' 3" junior saw limited time on the floor for coach Joe Balogh a season ago, but played an integral part in the JV's successful season. Wagner has posted double-figure scoring in all but one of the Warriors four games this year and says he loves contributing on this team. He scored 12 of Ontario's 49 points in their loss to Willard and believes the team will look much better the next time they take the court. "We just need to execute our plays better." Says Wagner. "We had too many missed posessions and allowed too many second chance points, but I don't think that will happen again." The Warriors have an opportunity to bounce back when they travel to Upper Sandusky on Friday, then Shelby on Saturday. Both games can be seen on WOHZ TV, listened to live at WMFD.com or followed via updates from @BrianSkowronski on Twitter.
