A late run by Ontario puts Upper Sandusky away, as the Warriors knocked off the Rams 42-31.

Upper Sandusky hadn't played a game in 14 days after last weeks contest with Bellevue was cancelled because of the Redmens run to the football state championship, and the rust showed a bit in the first half. The Rams scored just 18 points in the first two quarters but would only trail the Warriors by three heading into the second half by holding Ontario to 40% shooting.

The Warriors would go ice cold in the third quarter, chalking up just five points in the frame as Upper Sandusky pulled even heading into the fourth at 26 a piece. Ontario would take the lead early in the final stanza and lock down the Rams defensively, running away with the game down the stretch in route to a 42-31 win.

Each team scored just three field goals the entire second half, however the Warriors were able to convert their free throws in the closing minutes, although they made just 14-27 on the night. Ontario struggled equally as bad from the field, shooting just 33% for the game but the Rams were held to only 28% from the floor.

Tyler Boatwright led Ontario with 11 points and 6 rebounds, while Blake Balogh added 9 points and Brandon Wagner posted 7 points and 6 rebounds. Leading scorer and rebounder Cam Mack sat out the entire game with a strained left thumb.

Upper Sandusky got a nice game from Joe Reile with 11 points, Trent Howard scored 8 and Cody Collins chipped in with 5.

Ontario improved to 4-1 and will travel to Shelby (4-1) for a showdown with the Whippets on Saturday, while Upper Sandusky (0-2) will head to Carey to take on the unbeaten Blue Devils.
