A Morrow County detective shot in the line of duty two years ago is now retiring.

That announcement comes on the Morrow County Sheriff's Office facebook page.

Detective Brandon Moore was involved in a shootout on October 21st, 2010, while investigating a suspected marijuana-growing operation near Chesterville.

The facebook posting says "although he has healed... his injuries are such that he is unable to continue his duties at the Sheriff's Office.

It goes on to say "Detective Moore is a very conscientious worker, and his investigative skills will be missed."

In January, Moore was the first Ohioan to receive the Congressional Badge of Bravery.
