A Saturday morning fire destroyed a home at 349 Bowman Street in Mansfield, killing two dogs as well.

Firefighters rushed to the scene of the burning two-story wood frame home shortly before 10:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters found fire venting from the first and second story windows of the home.

Interior operations were initiiated with efforts to reach the attic space but heavy fire was encountered by firefighters throughout the home.

The two dogs were found deceased and were removed from the home.

No one lived in the home, which was being used for storage and no cause has been given as to why the home ignited, although fire officials say it didn't appear to be arson-related.

The estimated loss to the home and it's contents was $13,000.
