Two men and a woman from Lorain County are being investigated for possibly throwing contraband over the back fence at the Richland Correctional Institution. A guard spotted the men running along the railroad tracks behind the prison at nine o'clock Saturday morning. A tow truck driver then saw them get into a waiting car on Piper Road, and called 911. The vehicle was found in Ashland County by sheriff's deputies and highway patrol troopers, and the men were identified and questioned No charges have been filed against Antonio Lynch of Elyria, Antonio Ward of Lorain, and the driver, Paige Lynch of Elyria. The only item found in the prison yard was a cell phone, but it's not known if the men had tossed it over the fence. No contraband was found in the car. The incident is being investigated by the highway patrol, which handles crimes committed at state prisons. |
