More than 200 hundred people kicked-off 2013 with dip in Charles Mills Lake during the 7th Annual Polar Bear Dip Tuesday afternoon.

The participants braved the frigid temperatures and took the plunge as part of the "Cold for the Cure," to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Event organizer Chad Schrack said the Polar Bear Dip has raised over $30,000 in the past six years for the American Cancer Society.

This year's event featured a disc jockey playing music to help get the participants prepared for the dip into the cold lake.
