We now introduce you to the first babies of the new year in Ashland and Mansfield.

Leighann Fayth was born at 11:21 a.m. Tuesday at Ashland Samaritan Hospital.

The second daughter of 21-year-old Virginia Porter and George Corral IV of Ashland is 5 pounds, 4 ounces; and 18.5 inches long.

She arrived about three weeks premature, but is doing fine.

Virginia's two-year-old daughter, RoseLynn, helped pick her younger sister's name.

And, Jasper Allen McKinney was born at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, the second son of 26-year-old Heaven McKinney of Mansfield.

He's 6 pounds, 2 ounces, and 19 inches long.

The name Jasper was taken from characters in a couple of TV shows.

He is the second baby born in 2013 at MedCentral.
