A faithful public servant who kept his oath to serve and protect for the last 34 years, is hanging-up his badge and calling it a career. Ohio Highway Patrol Sergeant Robert Fulmer retires Friday from the Ashland post. He spent eight years in Dayton, nine in Ironton in southern Ohio, and the last seventeen in Ashland. Fulmer has seen many tragic car accidents, but prefers to remember the times he could help and get safely through another day. And he's amazed at the progress the patrol has made since 1979. The 54-year-old Fulmer plans to take it easy for a while, then pursue another job. He doesn't know what it will be yet, but wants to stay in criminal justice. |
