The Shelby Whippets will host the Willard Flashes at Joe Yohn Gymnasium on Saturday with both teams tied for second in the Northern Ohio League.  Shelby comes in off a non-league loss to Lexington, while the Flashes after beating Margaretta last weekend, go up against Marion Harding on Thursday before taking on the Whippets.  Shelby comes into the game at 7-3 overall, 3-1 in the NOL.  The much improved Flashes are 8-3 in all games and like Shelby 3-1 in league play.

Both teams only loss in conference was to undefeated Norwalk.  Shelby lost 75-47 in week two back in early December, while Willard fell last week by seven 58-51 at home.  Coach Troy Schwemley says both teams know falling two games back of a team like Norwalk probably means a league title or co-championship is out so the game carries plenty of weight.

Shelby won both games during the regular season last year, only to have the Flashes upset the Whippets in the sectional final at Bucyrus last March.
