Hot and nutritious food will soon be served at Mansfield City Hall.

Mayor Tim Theaker, flanked by Richland Newhope Superintendent Liz Prather and Newhope Industries Adult Services Director Amanda South, announced plans Wednesday to open a thirty-seat restaurant in the former Human Resources office on the third floor, possibly by late summer.

It will serve breakfast and lunch items, including bagel sandwiches, salads, soups, and coffee.

The restaurant will be staffed by four to five Newhope individuals, with the goal of training them to work in restaurants out in the community.

A food kiosk will also be built on the second floor by the municipal courtrooms, along with new vending machines, both operated by Newhope clients.

The city and Richland Newhope signed a ten-year contract for the project, which is being funded solely by Newhope Industries.
