At 8-3 and 3-1 in the Ohio Cardinal Conference and winners of four straight, the Lexington boys basketball team is getting ready for their toughest weekend to date as they travel to 6-4 and 3-2 Wooster on Friday, then are back home on Saturday night to take on OCC leader Mansfield Senior who goes into the weekend at 7-2 and 4-0 in conference play.  The Generals have won five of their last six, while Mansfield Senior is, as Lex coach Scott Hamilton puts it, are where they are always expected to be, at the top of the league standings.

According to Hamilton his team will approach this weekend the same as any other double, and that is prepare for Friday during the week, then get ready for Saturday night on Saturday morning.  Hamilton says the Generals will have Lex at a disadvantage underneath where Wooster goes 6'6" and 6'6" with Cameron Daugherty and Connor Kubiak.  They also have a strong presence inside with Grant Stokes who scored a game high 20 against Clear Fork last Friday.

With Mansfield Senior, the Tygers also boast two 6'6" players of their own in Donovyn Benson and Robert Jones who both dropped 21 points last week on West Holmes.  In addition to those two players, Hamilton says the Tyger guards also rebound the ball well and sport one of the area's best players in All-Ohioan Keon Johnson who had 18 against the Knights and has already gone over 1,000 points in his career.  The Lex coach adds his team is working on rebounding and boxing out saying his squad has to be able to hold there own on the glass not alowing the Generals and the Tygers second and third shots.  The Minutemen will be trying to win their fifth and sixth straight this weekend.

Last season, the Minutemen split with the Tygers, with each team winning on their home floor, while Lexington swept both from Wooster last year.
