Police Investigating Stabbing Of Disabled Man

The Ashland Police Department is investigating the whether a stabbing of a developmentally disabled man may have been racially motivated.

Due to the victim's disability, he was not able to tell authorities where the attack happened. Police believe the incident occurred on Jan. 3 in the area of East Main Street around 8 p.m. 
 

The victim, a black male, reported that he walking on the east side of the city and was approached by a white male who asked where he was going.

When the victim refused to answer he said the suspect made a racial slur and stabbed him the left hand.
The victim sustained a superficial wound.
