The United Way of Richland County campaign got a huge boost Friday during its Dash to the Goal event at Graham Auto Mall. Richland County Foundation Director Brady Groves and Director of Philanthropic Services Becky Smith presented $100,000, in the form of two $50,000 checks from an anonymous donor. That brought the United Way to only $81,000 short of its $1.6-million dollar goal. With additional contributions through the day, the total is $1,535,973.96, 95% of the goal with $64,026 needed to reach it. The United Way of Richland County funds 25 agencies which operate 75 social service programs. The campaign concludes at the end of January. |
