"Handwriting Without Tears" was the name of a workshop attended Friday by twenty Crestview Elementary School teachers, while the schools were closed for an in-service day. The three-hour session was conducted by handwriting education expert Paula Heinreicher of Pittsburgh. It focused on improving the legibility of students' handwriting, as the first hurdle to clear toward becoming good writers. Crestview's kindergarten through third grade students will start using the "Handwriting Without Tears" curriculum next week. |
