Fire officials are investigating a small fire that broke out late Friday night at the new Sons of Italy building site at 144 West Third Street in Mansfield.

Mansfield Police Officer Joe Soehnlen reportedly extinguished the fire after having seen a small flame inside the one-story building.

An arson investigator was called in to look over the area but how the fire ignited is unknown at this time.

The Sons of Italy are constructing the new building to replace their current lodge which was built 90 years ago at the site, which will be leveled and used for parking.
