Despite balmy, 60-degree temperatures, the 8th Annual Mohican Winterfest still drew hundreds of people this past weekend to the village of Loundonville in southern Ashland County.

Loudonville-Mohican Chamber of Commerce Office Manager and event coordinator, Jeanne Leckrone, says organizers had to be creative this year to try to make the thirty ice sculptures last as longs as possible.

Ice sculpting demonstrations took place in Loudonville's Central Park, much to the delight of those attending the event.

As part of Mohican Winterfest, a model train expo also held at the Hans Event Center and the annual Snow Ball Dance took place at American Legion Post 257.

The ice sculptures remained on display Sunday until they melted away.
