Local author Julie McPeek, who has written the children's book, "Love Your Light," has teamed up with her creative team to start a program called "Give a Book to Sandy Hook."

She says for every copy of the book sold in January, one copy of the book will be given to a child at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

McPeek says after every child at Sandy Hook Elementary receives a copy of the book, the publisher will donate 100 percent of the January profits to Newtown Youth and Family Services, an organization which provides emergency and counseling services to the Newtown community.

She says the book has been well-received with many adults feeling the book was written just for them.

McPeek says there is also a book discount program for schools, counseling services and youth groups.
The book is available at Main Street Books in Mansfield or online at www.Amazon.com.
