The Mansfield State Highway Patrol is requesting the public's assistance in its investigation of a two-vehicle accident that occurred shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 5 on U.S. 42 at Indiana Avenue. The patrol says Dennis Flury, 45, of Nova, was driving south on U.S. 42 and slowing to make a right turn when his car was struck from behind by a full-size Chevrolet pickup truck that fled the scene. The pickup is described as dark colored, late 1990's to early 2000's model, possibly gray or green and should have heavy front-end damage. Witnesses describe the driver as a white male in his late 40's to early 50's with gray hair. A witness followed the pickup south on Stewart Road to Ohio 39 where it was last seen turning left heading east toward Interstate-71. Anyone with information of the suspect's vehicle or the driver is asked to contact the Mansfield State Highway patrol at 419-756-2222. Callers may remain anonymous. |
