After a 54-49 win over rival Willard last Saturday, the 8-3 and 4-1 Shelby Whippets have put themselves in a position where with a win Friday, they can force a tie for first place in the Northern Ohio League.  The problem is the opponent is one of the best around, undefeated Norwalk.

Norwalk comes into the contest at 12-0, 5-0 in the NOL.  The last time the two teams played earlier this season in week two, the Whippets got off to a good start early leading 8-4.  After that it was all Norwalk as the Truckers went on to score the next 18 points winning by a final of 75-47.  Head coach at Shelby Troy Schwemley says for his team to fair better on Friday at Norwalk they must limit turnovers not letting the Truckers get into their transition game where they hurt the Whippets the last time the two teams met.

Norwalk enters the game riding a 33 game regular season winning streak dating back to the final game of the 2010-'11 season in February.  After Friday the Truckers will play host to the Toledo City League's Rams of Toledo Rogers.  Rogers comes into the weekend at 7-3, 5-0 in the TCL.  Like wise, Shelby will be back on the court Saturday night at Mansfield St.Peter's.
