The first tenant has signed on the dotted line to move into the former General Motors plant in Ontario.

Florida-based Sunfest Herbs, which produces fresh herbs for the Publix grocery store chain and Wal-Mart stores in Florida, plans to occupy a million square feet, including a building with a glass roof in which to grow herbs.

Mayor Larry Collins says Sunfest wants to move here to expand its distribution into the midwest and eastern parts of the country.

He does not know yet how many jobs Sunfest will create.

He expects the company to move in by fall.

A second tenant is also waiting to finalize plans to move in.

More details about Sunfest Herbs will be released during a news conference next Tuesday.

Mayor Collins says he has full confidence the Adler Group will keep its promise to create 1100 jobs in what's now called the Ontario Business Park.
