The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services unemployment claims processing center in Ontario is among 13 in the state being consolidated.

The 38 employees at 2291 West Fourth Street will have to commute to either Lorain or Columbus as part of an effort by the state to save $2-million a year.

The consolidation will begin in the spring and be completed by the end of the year.

None of the employees will lose their jobs.

This change does not affect the Richland County Job and Family Services office at 171 Park Avenue East in Mansfield.

That office stays open and clients will continue seeking services there.
