Officer Mark Perry with the Mansfield Police Department is holding his second annual food drive for the Salvation Army.

Last year, the officer heard how bare the food pantry is after Christmas, so he decided to host a drive, which turned into a huge success.

This year he's continuing his effort to collect canned food and non-perishable items, as well as diapers and cereal for babies.

Perry, who is a Christian, said, "I feel it's very biblical that every body does their part in helping feed the hungry."

If you would like to make a donation for Officer Perry's food drive, you may do so on the first or second floor of the city building, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. There are boxes also set up at Madison Fitness Center at 926 Ashland Road. The drive ends Monday, January 28.
