State and federal legislators met Tuesday with the Richland Community Development Group's Executive Board at Deer Ridge Golf Club outside of Bellville.

U.S. Rep. Pat Tiberi (R-Ohio) says one of the hot topics of discussion centered on the Market Tax Credit, a program that was extended in the fiscal cliff deal that helps local communities with distressed areas, attract private dollars to help redevelop such areas.

RCDG Executive Director Bridget McDaniel the discussion shows want a great partnership local communities can have with legislators.

The event included a presentation on the RCDG by John Brown, Executive Board Chairman and by McDaniel.

Other topics of discussion included workforce issues, healthcare concerns and new business attraction.

Also attending the event were U.S. Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-Ohio), Ohio Sen. Larry Obhof (R), Ohio Rep. Mark Romanchuk (R), along with staff from the offices of both U.S. Senators Sherrod Brown (D) and Rob Portman (R).

Richland Community Development Group is a non-profit agency working for the betterment of the county through economic and community development efforts.
