After rare back-to-back losses, St. Peter's won a close game Tuesday night, 49-45. Norwalk St. Paul matched up with the Spartans on several fronts. They had similar records, similar size and styles of play and both display tenacious defense. Neither team disappointed and after 32 minutes of spirited play the patron saints in heaven would have been proud of both schools.

St. Peter's built a comfortable 9 point cushion after three quarters, but Sabrina Schaffer drained a three-pointer seconds into the final period, putting the Flyers right back in it. Following a steal and a basket by Bella Stoll, the Flyers made it a four point game. On the other end, Kim Tomchak spots an open Randa Payne for an easy two. From that point on, at 3:33, a slowed down tempo and strong defense iced the game. It was another outstanding night for Payne who led all scorers with 26 points.
