Ashland County Receives Emergency Food And Shelter Funding

Four Ashland County agencies will receive increased emergency food and shelter from the previous cycle. At Thursday's Ashland County Commissiioners meeting, commissioners' deputy clerk Nikki Hiller, who serves as the Community Development Block Grant Program Administrator, said the county has received $14,801 in financial assistance from state and federal funds. It will be allocated to Associated Charities, Lutheran Social Services, Pumphouse Ministries and the Salvation Army. Hiller says the money is used to help people with shelter needs such as rent and mortgage assistance, hot meals, a men's shelter and utilty assistance. |
