Sixty-three children were given free dental care Friday in Bucyrus. Doctors Glen McMurray and Autumn Sackett participated for the third year in the American Dental Association's "Give Kids a Smile Day", at their clinic at 126 Hill Street. The annual event is intended to help children whose parents cannot afford dental insurance. The two dentists and three hygenists worked without pay to make sure financial challenges don't cause children to not have healthy teeth, by performing a wide range of dental treatments. McMurray says he expected to provide $12,000 worth of dentistry, as his office did last year. "Give Kids a Smile Day" was open to children throughtout Crawford County, between the ages of five and eighteen. As a thank you, several patients gave the staff a big batch of chocolate chip cookies. |
